Iridology · Bowling Green, KY
The oldest map of you there is.
In the iridology tradition, the iris keeps the body’s records — color, fiber, and pattern, a chapter for every year. Dr. Appling reads them.
Written in the iris
To you, it’s an eye. To an iridologist, it’s a map. Iridology — a practice more than a century old — reads the iris zone by zone, the way a cartographer reads a coastline: each region of the iris corresponds, in the tradition, to a region of the body, and its texture, tone, and markings become a story worth listening to.
Dr. Appling studies each iris under gentle light and magnification, then walks you through what he sees in plain language — what looks resilient, what looks tired, and where the story lines up with your own numbers from the ANH Protocol. Nothing about it is invasive, and nothing about it is guesswork dressed up as certainty: the reading joins your pH analysis and muscle testing as one voice among several, all pointing your plan in the same direction.
The lineage: people from all over once made the drive — and stood in line, hot or cold — to have Reuben Schwartz read their eyes in the Vernon Amish community. Dr. Appling spent years studying at his side. Reuben has since retired; what he taught lives on in Bowling Green.
What a reading is like
- The look
A few quiet minutes per eye — gentle light, careful magnification, and Dr. Appling's full attention. Nothing touches the eye.
- The reading
He traces the map with you, region by region — what stands out, and what it has meant in the tradition.
- The weaving
What the iris suggests is set beside what your numbers say, and both inform your written ANH Protocol — one story, told twice, checked against itself.
The Reading
Every ANH Protocol visit ($125) comes with an iridology reading — the map and the measurements, in one sitting.
